Fenchuganj Upazila (sylhet district) with an area of 144.48 sq km, is bounded by sylhet sadar and golabganj uapzila on the north, rajnagar and kulaura upazilas on the south, barlekha upazila on the east, balaganj upazila on the west. Main rivers: kushiyara, Juri, and Sonai; haor 4.
Fenchuganj (Town) consists of 3 mouzas. It has
an area of 9.92 sq km; population 16314; male 52.12%, female 47.88%; density
of population is 1645 per sq km. Literacy rate among the town people is
35.1%. The town has one dakbungalow
thana was established in 1907 and was turned into an upazila in 1980. The upazila consists of three union parishads, 30 mouzas and 88 villages.
