Namder, Munshi (19th century) writer, born in Bhupatipur
village in Burdwan district, west
bengal. Not much is known about his personal life. He wrote
a few sketch-type booklets such as Kashite Hay Bhukampa-Narider Eki
Dambha (1863), Dui Satiner Jhagda (1867), Banganye Shiyal
Raja (1867), Manohar Fensda (1867), Kalir Bau Had-Jvalani
(1868) etc in a mixture of prose and verse. Through these books he tried
to portray the absence of principles in both family life and society.
The brief dialogues spoken by his various characters are often very funny.
