Tippera Surface a part of area mainly in Comilla
district lying west of tripura
hills in India. It has been uplifted 1.22m to 1.83m in relation
to the adjacent floodplain
during the Recent time. It is also known as Tippera-Noakhali Clay Plain.
The drainage now developed in the uplifted area is mainly artificial,
displaying a network of roughly rectangular drains for irrigation. In
contrast, the recent floodplain shows a braiding and meandering drainage
pattern. The hilly region of Tripura Hills is characterised by dendritic
stream pattern. The soil
of the Tippera surface is slightly more oxidised than the floodplain deposits.
